One of the objections that our Protestant friends give to the Deuterocanon, the 7 books that Catholic Bibles have and Protestants don't, is the cessation of prophecy. This is also known as the 400 years of silence between the time of Malachi and the New Testament. Brent Dean Robbins, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology and director of the M.A. in community psychology program at Point Park University. He is editor-in-chief of Janus Head: Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature, Continental Philosophy, and Phenomenological Psychology, and a recipient of the American Psychological Association's Carmi Harari Early Career Award. His published research includes mixed method investigations of emotion, embodiment, and the medicalization of the body in contemporary Western culture, with particular attention to the implications of these findings for the treatment of mental illness.
